In July 2018, I was lucky enough to be able to speak at the United Nations, in a trip run by Serene Communications in partnership with NAWO. I had been chosen to speak at an event on FGM, on a panel with prestigious figures in the activism field who were all seeking to make a difference to those who were at risk of, or had already been subject to the horrifying practice of FGM. Serene Communications were extremely diligent and helpful in helping me to prepare for this event, as well as planning and carrying out the event in an extremely professional and organised manner. They provided assistance in the creation of my speech, and gave background information to the venue and the systems of the United Nations; thus allowing the speech to be directed at the right audience and be written in a style which the personnel I was addressing. Thank you very much for helping me in my preparation and execution of my speech, and all the other behind the scenes work that went into making sure I was as prepared and happy about delivering it as possible!
