Director Zarin Hainsworth was recently invited to attend a significant event at CSW 57 organised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. This was part of a series of activities organised by the UK Government at CSW.

The panel was chaired by the Executive Director of the Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice, Brigid Inder. Among those giving presentations were Mrs. Fatou Bensouda, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court; Zainab Hawa Bangura, Special Representative of the Secretary General on Sexual Violence in Conflict; Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for International Development, Lynne Featherstone MP.

The event highlighted how the advocacy work that Serene has been involved in with Global Justice Center is bearing fruit – the speech by Lynne Featherstone mentions the link to the Geneva Convention which has been one of the key points of the campaign.
